Verb endings (or suffixes) provide information on person, order, mode and tense. For conjunct and imperative orders, which do not have personal prefixes, the endings (or suffixes) indicate the person:
apu atusseian | I don’t work | -ian = 1st person singular, conjunct |
apu atussein | you don’t work | -in = 2nd person singular, conjunct |
apu atusset | s/he doesn’t work | -t = 3rd person singular, conjunct |
atusse! | work! | Ø = 2nd person singular, imperative present |
atussetau! | let’s work! | -tau = 1st person plural inclusive, imperative present |
Transitive verbs contain thematic suffixes that appear immediately after the stem.
