The verb nakaueu has a stem ending in au and the verb uitsheueu has a stem ending in eu. This type of stem is stable and appears on all verb forms in the conjugation.

NOTES

Even though they also end in u, au and eu stems are different from u(a) stems and shu stems. They are easily recognizable because they always end in auHISTORICAL CONTEXT : historically, this stem ended in -ahu-, as it is still pronounced in the dialect of Mashteuiatsh and in Quebec Cree (ninâtahukw s/he will join me on the water). (nuaueu s/he follows him/her paddling) or eu (uitsheueu s/he accompanies him/her), while no u(a) verb stem (petueu s/he hears him/her) ends in au or eu.

NOTES ON SPELLING
In the Betsiamites dialect, it is not pronounced [-a:w-], but [-w-] : nataueu Mamit [na:ta:we:w], [t∫ǝna:ta:wn]; Bets [na:twe:w], [t∫ǝna:tu:n]. It is important for speakers of this dialect to pay attention to the spelling of verbs with this type of stem.
